First of all, let me assure you that we’re all JUST FINE here. One sweet friend e-mailed that she was concerned about me and was sending prayers our way. WE’RE FINE. We’re always ‘fine,’ but the purpose of my last few blog entries was to be brutally honest so that we all know we’re in this together. Having said that, however, the intensity continues. I didn’t get out of my clammies yesterday (jammies that also can serve as clothes), but took the time to rest and hang with the fam. That felt VERY good, and I am reminded (yet again) of the importance of REST during these shifts. We’re just doing too much on too many levels. SLOW DOWN.
I also started (in earnest) on my new book, “The Next Step.” If I’m going to branch out, I need to have my book done. I wrote down different meditations I’ve devised to help people, wrote down stories, just to get my feet wet. Last night I dreamt that I wrote down notes on the fingernails of my right hand. I was going to transfer the notes when I got to my computer, but then… WASHED MY HANDS! The black ink had worn off. I was sad. I’m SURE they were good notes. But then I started talking to someone about what’s going on energetically right now, and how we can understand it better. This is the story I told (and I think it’s STILL a good addition to my book):
We are entering the time when we HAVE to do our own work. Otherwise, it is like a student in school who cheats off her friend’s homework and tests all the time. She doesn’t study, she doesn’t read, she doesn’t do the work, she doesn’t try to understand. She just looks at what others are doing and copies it. If the other people ‘get’ the answer ‘right,’ then she may get it ‘right,’ but she still doesn’t understand anything. If the other people ‘get’ the answer ‘wrong,’ then her life is probably an utter disaster. If they’re right, SHE can probably get through life by faking it - she LOOKS like she knows what she’s doing, but really is just spouting what others have said and done.
Why did we cheat in the first place? Maybe we weren’t taught the proper way TO be in the class. Maybe we didn’t hear the Teacher when she said, “Now Class - at the beginning of the semester, everyone gets a Book. In this Book will contain everything you need to succeed in this class. But you need to study your Book, learn from the Book, practice the exercises from the Book, READ your Book.” Maybe we didn’t think we could do it all by ourselves, and thought that others were smarter than we were. Maybe we’re lazy, and don’t want to do our own Work. I don’t know - you’ll have to answer that for yourself. But it makes sense to me. Our Book is our Soul. It’s US. It’s unique to us, and everyone’s Book is different, anyway. It may all be the same CLASS, like Math, but all of the students have different things they want to learn, and are at all different levels in their understandings. One may have a basic algebra book, while the next may be studying trigonometry, so then it REALLY doesn’t make any sense to look at what others are doing, because it may be too basic OR too complex - kind of the Goldilocks Syndrome. The porridge in front of you? THAT’S just right… for you.
So quit straining your neck to look at what others are doing. Quit cheating or skipping class or skipping the work. Put your nose down, open your Book, and start reading. Your Teacher is right there, and your Book is fascinating. I promise.
