This is an article written by Heinz Valtin, a physician and professor emeritus and former chair of the Department of Physiology at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. It comes from the June 2008 issue of “Nutrition Action Healthletter.” Dr. Valtin has authored several widely used textbooks on kidney function and water balance. Now retired, Dr. Valtin spoke to “Nutrition Action’s” Bonnie Liebman from his home in Alexandria, Virginia. It’s a FASCINATING read and sheds some light on a long-held myth of 8x8.
